My Style

Up the Amp

Hey everyone,
This look was inspired by my favorite lipstick ever. It's called Up the Amp by Mac.
Photo via Google image search

Mac make up is one of my favorite brands. I keep it pretty simple when it comes to my make up because I hate to over do something. A fresh looking face is the way to go for an everyday look. In Pittsburgh the weather is frigid cold and I'm SICK of it. I thought a hint of pink will make the sun come out. WRONG! I guess I can wait a few more weeks but I really don't want to.

 Dear Summer,
I miss you!
Sincerely,
Mandy xoxo

Sunday
Sunday is my favorite day of the week (unless I have to work).
Sunday is the day of rest. It's the day that I get to go into the house of the Lord and worship with like-minded people. Sunday is the day that I get to dress business casual and wear my pretty yellow heels. Sunday is the day that we go home, eat, watch Sunday's Best, eat and prepare for our work/school week.
Sunday's are the best!

Even when you're in a rush you can't let them see it.
I'm newly obsessed with all lipstick colors and lip stains. Raspberry lip for a small pop of glam.

K&K Mime

Mom & I

Last night we attended the Joyful Noise Extravaganza concert at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh. Guests included Trini Massie, Jordan Welch, Anita Levels, Damarra, & K&K Mime. The concert was AMAZING. I have never heard such talented gospel singers live like that.

I wore white skinny jeans with a blue jean shirt that I got from the thrift store for $2.00. BAM!! My orange lips.. I'M LOVING THEM. I went to Walmart to find a bright orange lip. This lipstick is from Color Sensational. It was inexpensive so I'll shop that brand more often.

I felt super spicy and vibrant wearing this colorful ensemble. It's better to be bold than to be boring. Mixing prints and colors is always risky but as along as you stay within the family of the color wheel of your main garment then you'll be sure to rock any outfit. My main piece for this outfit was the soft garden green and coral shirt. I've worn this shirt only a few times and have yet to pair it with other colors. I went outside of my comfort zone and paired it with orange sling backs and jeggings that are a capriblue shade.

DIY Neon
I'm excited that I did my own DIY shorts with some old neon pants I found in my closet. Neon is hot this spring/summer so I know I will be finding more neon somewhere in my wardrobe and remaking them! Other than that, I am still OBSESSED with my legs. I guess that Squat Challenge is paying off big time. WOOT.

I'm still loving my black hair. This is a flat twist out that is 3 days old. I'm not mad at it. I put my bonnet on at night and fluff in the morning.

Flowy Friday
I've been up since 7:00 am preparing for next week. I received  3 phone calls about articles I have written for MidWest Black Hair magazine. I am elated and very thankful for the opportunity. Next week I will be featuring a few articles from the magazine I wrote  and post them on the blog so stayed tuned for next week.
Enjoy your weekend!
xoxo,
Mandy

You can use the Prometheus color wheel to help you if you are new to color blocking

Polka Pop
OOTD
We have all been in a rush to get ready for the day and try to look fabulous. Easiest way to accomplish this is to create your canvas in a solid and pair it with a pop color. I chose to wear ALL black with a pop of orange. Simple but always fabulous. My unconventional style.

Sunday Funday
OOTD
Here in Pittsburgh it was a little chilly but very sunny. Always a good day to take pictures :). I have a new obsession with Tommy Hilfiger and the color white. I don't know why but it's a refreshing color. I tied the multicolored scarf around my purse straps to make it more springy. One of my many uses for scarves!
